AP - The jet stream was to dip southward across the Eastern U.S. on Friday, bringing some very chilly weather to the region. In the interior of New England, high elevation areas were to see temperatures topping out in the single digits. While the predicted cold spell was new to New England, the Midwest and Northern Plains were to continue feeling the freezing weather that had been in place for days.
