The design of the new Jeep Cherokee can be called “polarizing,” to say the least. An angular front end, paired to a mostly tame set of body lines have left some squinting at Jeep’s radical new approach. But that hasn’t stopped Chrysler from powering on in promotion of their new crossover. In fact, rumor has it the Cherokee could even spawn an SRT variant.
The folks over at Allpar.com tell us that this hot-UV could come with a more potent version of the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder currently found on the Cherokee, with an added twin-turbo kit pushing out somewhere in the market of 410-hp.
So far, Jeep hasn’t made any official indication as to whether a Cherokee SRT is something they have planned, but it sure is something we’d love to get behind the wheel of.
