...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
4 AM PST SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RENO HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON
TO 4 AM PST SATURDAY.

* TIMING: RAIN AND SNOW WILL BEGIN THIS AFTERNOON THEN QUICKLY
CHANGE TO ALL SNOW. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL BETWEEN 6 PM
AND MIDNIGHT.

* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ON THE
VALLEY FLOORS WITH 3 TO 6 INCHES IN FOOTHILL LOCATIONS.

* SNOW LEVELS: SNOW LEVELS WILL START ABOVE 5500 FEET THIS
AFTERNOON THEN FALL TO THE VALLEY FLOORS BY 6 PM.

* IMPACTS: ACCUMULATING SNOWS WILL CREATE SLICK ROADS AND
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS IN THE FOOTHILLS LATE THIS
AFTERNOON AND IN MANY LOWER ELEVATIONS THIS EVENING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO POSE AN INCONVENIENCE TO TRAVELERS. ROADS
WILL BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS...WITH SNOW AND ICE FIRST
DEVELOPING ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. MOTORISTS SHOULD SLOW DOWN
AND USE CAUTION.
