A few months back I got to drive the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT at Willow Springs. At the end of the day, the cars' tires were badly feathered and chewed up by a day at the track, and the Mercedes pit team was ready to change them out for fresh rubber. Since there was still an inch or two of tread on the things, I asked if I could send a set out in style. So what happens when you push a tire way, way beyond its limits? Enjoy this appropriately German music as we conduct a scientific experiment on the Willow Springs skidpad.
