MIAMI (AP) — Dorian is no longer a tropical storm as it moves northeast off the Carolina coast.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Dorian has maximum sustained winds early Sunday of 30 mph (48 kph). The depression's center is about 255 miles east-southeast of Charleston, S.C. Dorian is moving northeast at 16 mph (26 kph) and expected to dissipate early Sunday.
In the Pacific, Tropical Storm Gil is slowly weakening about 1405 miles (2261 kilometers) east of Hilo, Hawaii. It has maximum sustained winds of 50 mph (81 kph) and is moving west at 9 mph (14 kph). Additional weakening is expected during the next 48 hours.
No coastal watches or warnings are in effect for either system.
